Hello everbody, my name is Aleeza and Aleeza means Joy.
I’d been awaiting the status of my name change and found out last week that it was granted. Some of you may know that my given name was Leeza, which means God’s promise but I’ve been going through this process with YHWH aka God where I believe He’s shifting my perspective to one of Joy and so the name change is part of that. If you want to know more about that story you can visit aleeza.me/joystory
So this is my new thing. I’ve always been into music and have played a little piano and a little guitar but I’ve just opened up to the idea of doing poetry and most if not all of these were written in the past month to two months. I don’t feel like I actively wrote any of these, but it was more like an infusion of content that I scrambled to write down. So excuse any rawness that you may or may not like. This project is called Psalms of Shame and Grace. This collection of writings, music and poetry is about the necessity of Soul Care, which is different from self care. It addresses the darkness that can happen in the lives of those who believe. It addresses the lasting and damaging effects of living in this world and the importance of taking care of your soul by taking it to the Creator YHWH in honesty and expectation of healing.
A lot of my pieces are referenced to scriptures from what is called the Holy Bible. I don’t want to assume that everyone has read what I have or even interpreted it the way that I do, so I’ll preface each piece with the background scripture or story that is relevant to what is shared.
